Julian Setian

President and Chief Executive Officer

Julian Setian has worked in the national security sector for over 30 years and has served as President and CEO of SOSi since 2001, leading the company through more than $7 billion in contract awards and $200 million in acquisitions. Under his leadership, SOSi has evolved from a small boutique government contractor into a leading national security technology and mission solutions business, delivering advanced products and capabilities in AI, cyber, intelligence, and logistics to the Department of War, Intelligence Community, Department of Justice, Department of Homeland Security, and Department of State.

Under Julian’s direction, SOSi has achieved major success across the defense, intelligence, and homeland security markets—building and operating mission systems and networks globally, advancing cyber defense and information assurance for the Department of War and other national security customers, and integrating AI, data analytics, and automation into operational environments throughout the national security community. In 2011, he founded Exovera, SOSi’s commercial data analytics and software subsidiary, which licenses AI-enabled open-source intelligence software to the Department of War and Intelligence Community.

A self-funded entrepreneur and active philanthropist, Julian promotes veteran entrepreneurship and leads SOSi’s support for organizations assisting service members, military families, and caregivers. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Columbia University, serves on the Executive Committee of the Professional Services Council and the Board of the Wolf Trap Foundation for the Performing Arts, and is a past Washington D.C. chairman and current member of the Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO). He is a five-time Wash100 awardee, recognized by Virginia Business Magazine’s “Power 500,” and has been a finalist for NVTC’s “Cyber CEO of the Year” and Ernst & Young’s “Entrepreneur of the Year” Awards.
