The Intelligence Directorates (G2) of U.S. Army Europe and Africa (USAREUR-AF) faced a multifaceted challenge that required the provision of flexible and scalable intelligence and technical services across the vast and diverse regions of Europe and Africa. This challenge encompassed a wide array of intelligence disciplines, including All Source, Signals Intelligence (SIGINT), Counterintelligence (CI), Human Intelligence (HUMINT), and Open-Source Intelligence (OSINT).
To effectively address these needs, the Intelligence Directorates required expertise in a broad spectrum of mission-critical and subject matter areas. This included counterterrorism efforts to identify and mitigate threats, cyber threat analysis to protect against digital attacks, and biometrics to enhance identification and security measures. Additionally, they needed robust capabilities in information operations (IO) to influence and disrupt adversarial actions, information and systems engineering to develop and maintain sophisticated technological infrastructures, and foreign security training to bolster the capabilities of allied forces.
The complexity of these requirements demanded a comprehensive approach that could adapt to the dynamic and evolving nature of intelligence operations. The Intelligence Directorates needed solutions that could seamlessly integrate various intelligence disciplines and provide timely, accurate, and actionable insights to support decision-making processes and operational effectiveness across the theater of operations.
