SOSi Wins Five-Year Information Management Contract with the U.S. Army in Afghanistan
April 22, 2016 -- The U.S. Army awarded SOS International LLC (SOSi) a five-year, incrementally funded information management contract in Afghanistan valued at approximately $150 million. Work will be performed in support of U.S. Forces throughout the country.
"This is a huge win for the company," said SOSi CEO Julian M. Setian. "We have been supporting both the U.S. Military and U.S. Embassy in Afghanistan for 13 consecutive years. With the President's announcement to maintain a sizeable force presence in the country, we intend to stay for as long as we're needed."
In an announcement in response to the U.S. decision to maintain troops in Afghanistan until late 2016, Ashraf Ghani, Afghanistan's president said, "The decision to maintain the current level of the United States' forces in Afghanistan once again shows renewal of the partnership and strengthening of relations of the United States with Afghanistan on the basis of common interests and risks." SOSi intends to remain a partner of the U.S. and Afghan governments in renewed efforts to stabilize the country.
