SOSi’s Iraq Country Director Named Chairman of the Overseas Security Advisory Council (OSAC)
RESTON, Va. (October 10, 2014) – SOS International LLC (SOSi) announced today that Robert "Bob" Lewis, the company's country director for Iraq, was elected chairman of the Overseas Security Advisory Council (OSAC) by its board of directors in September.
Created in 1985 under the Federal Advisory Committee Act, OSAC promotes security cooperation between the U.S. Department of State and American private-sector interests involved internationally. Today, more than 4,000 U.S. companies, educational institutions, faith-based institutions, and non-governmental organizations are OSAC constituents.
Lewis is well qualified professionally and academically to serve as OSAC's new chairman. As a Lieutenant Colonel (Ret.) with the U.S. Army Special Forces, he has 36 years of global experience managing security, defense, training, intelligence, and mission support services. He earned his BA in International Relations from California State University/Chico and his MA in National Security and Strategic Studies from the U.S. Naval War College.
As SOSi's country director for Iraq, Lewis oversees all company operations — managing relations with the Government of Iraq, developing business initiatives, and facilitating dialogue between American counterparts and government agencies, including the Department of State, Department of Defense, and U.S. Agency for International Development. Before joining SOSi, he managed projects in 43 countries that employed more than 4,000 international personnel and generated $250 million in revenue.
