The MFA manages more than one million patient visits each year and is dedicated to patient care, clinical research and education.

The MFA global operations center provides around-the-clock service, connecting patients directly to physicians, including emergency and specialty consultation, case management and care planning, medical repatriation, and remote health monitoring. Its cutting-edge telemedicine solutions include mobile device applications and a variety of HIPPA compliant video communication tools, such as portable, low bandwidth video-conferencing systems.

SOSi CMO, Dr. James Phillips received his doctorate of medicine from the University of Oklahoma and has been an instructor at Harvard Medical School for the past four years. He received a Disaster Medicine and Emergency Management Fellowship from Harvard Medical School and has more than 12 years of experience in trauma and reconstructive surgery, emergency medicine, and expeditionary medical services, including recent work in Nepal and Ukraine. In his role as CMO, Dr. Phillips makes field visits to review and update clinical protocols, hires and trains clinical staff, and provides guidance on improving capabilities and preparedness.

“Providing exceptional medical care in austere environments requires specialized training, nimble thinking, and the ability to improvise,” said Dr. Phillips. “GW-MFA has years of experience providing such care, and I and I am very proud to be a part of this growing business area within SOSi.”
