A Hole in One: SOSi Supports ICE and DLA Foundations
September 2015 - This month, SOSi team members Bob Billeaud, Jim Edwards and Mike Jin represented SOS International LLC at the ICE Foundation's Annual Golf Tournament. Also in September, employee and retired service member Ken Dowd joined a group of wounded warriors on the golf course in support of the DLA Foundation.
The ICE Foundation is a non-profit organization created to honor and support the contributions of the more than 20,000 ICE employees in over 400 offices across the U.S. and 46 countries around the globe. The foundation supports the men and women of the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement, their families and communities, in their mission to provide homeland security and public safety.
The SOSi team has been supporting ICE for more than 20 years. At the event, Jim Edwards was awarded "closest to the pin" honors by ICE Director Sarah Saldana and Foundation Chair John Clark. SOSi sponsored one hole in the golf tournament to show our support for its important mission.
The Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Foundation is dedicated to being a “force for good” by bestowing education scholarships and other benefits to former and current DLA employees. In 2014, the DLA Foundation awarded 12 scholarships to relatives of DLA employees. In 2015, the Foundation awarded another 17 scholarships to help recipients fulfill their dreams of higher education.
At the DLA Foundation's annual golf event, SOSi sponsored a team of wounded warriors who participated in a round of golf with employee Ken Dowd. One team member was out playing for the first time in two years after undergoing medical treatments. Together the team finished 5 under par!
