Dr. Paul Wolfowitz
Paul Wolfowitz is a former President of the World Bank (2005–2007), United States Ambassador to Indonesia, U.S. Deputy Secretary of Defense (2001–2005), and former dean of the Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies at Johns Hopkins University (1994–2001). He is currently chairman of the US-Taiwan Business Council and a visiting scholar at the American Enterprise Institute, working on issues of international economic development, Africa and public-private partnerships, and national security policy.
Dr. Wolfowitz served in the Johnson, Nixon, Carter, Ford, and Reagan administrations. He was Undersecretary of Defense for Policy in the George H.W. Bush administration in addition to his service as Deputy Secretary in the George W. Bush administration.
He attended Cornell University, where he received a bachelor’s degree in mathematics, and later the University of Chicago, where he received a Ph.D in political science. He also taught in the Department of Political Science at Yale University.
